How it works

These simple steps show you how to create your ideal wedding gift list with us, and remember that Marriage Gift List is 100% FREE!

Create your gift list

Setting up your gift list

To get started we only need your names, email address and a secure password to create your account.

  • Once you have registered for free and complete your setup, your gift list is ready to go.
  • Personalise the list with one of our theme images, as well as a profile picture and a unique introduction to welcome your guests.
  • You can nominate someone to be List Manager, giving your guests someone to contact with queries.

Adding your gifts

Add, edit and delete gifts at any time, specify quantity and include your own extra notes for guests.

  • Pick your gifts from any online retailer - all you need to do is submit the web address for that gift. We take that bit of information and get all the details we need.
  • Add any additional notes for your guests to see before they buy, for example you can specify the colour or size of the gift to make sure there are no mistakes.

Inviting your guests

You can choose from a selection of our beautiful invitation cards to give to your guests, or you can simply send them your unique link.

  • We have partnered with Moo to create beautiful, expertly crafted invitation cards. Simply include your List ID to make it easy for your guests to find your list.
  • If a guest isn't familiar with computers then no worries, we have helpful tutorials to guide them through it. All they need to log in is your surname, and your unique list ID.

Managing your gift list

If a guest makes a mistake they can easily edit or delete their own purchases, and so can you.

  • You can choose to open or close your list at any time - when it's closed your guests cannot view your list, but you will always have access.
  • You will receive email alerts when one of your gifts has been purchased.

Buying gifts

Once a gift has been purchased, your guests must confirm this on your list to avoid someone else buying the same thing.

  • Your guests have to click the button shown with their chosen gift. Then your guests will need to follow the instructions and click the button to send them over to the retailer's own website.
  • If you have guests who prefer to buy from high street shops, then that's absolutely fine. All they need to do is notify the List Manager, or log in themselves to confirm the purchase.

Delivering gifts

We ask you to specify your delivery instructions when you setup your list.

  • Since we have no partnership with the third party online retailers which sell the gifts, your guests need to give them a delivery address.
  • Remember that each retailer will probably have their own delivery costs as well.
